More nurses just laid off in my hometown

Just insane to hear that bedside staff are getting pinkslips.
Is this a small town, private/public hospital or what?

Sorry about the cynicism but hey, the schools are turning out boatloads "for the shortage" and well, why not pink slip nurses--new ones will likely work for less, and less...and less...

The hospital I used to work at hired a bunch of phelebotimist and lab techs, after their orientation was over the gave out pink slips to the ones who had trained the new ones, with years of experience. Not supprised they will start doing it to nurses next.

Also your federal government believes the nursing shortage is at a crisis state. That is why they are trying to pass HB 1929. This brings in 20,000 foreign nurses to aid in the shortage crisis. The hospital does have to pay 1,500 for each nurses brought in to their facility from outside the US. Google it.
