Officer/board member of specialty organization

For nurses who are members of a nursing specialty organization, have you ever held a local
or national office or held a board of trustee position? Or perhaps, currently you hold a leadership role in a specialty organization.

If so, please tell us about your experience, and how you feel you
made a difference for members by your leadership involvement.
(I am seeking info for specialty organizations, not union. thanks)
