How Far Do You Travel For Work?Rating: (votes: 0) Your mom would hate my schedule. Sometime I drive 1000 miles.. yes 1000 miles weekly. I am a hospice nurse and sometimes its 60 miles to my first patient. Also I am in school for my RN and depending on the route its 70 miles back roads or 87 miles expressway still with back roads. My car is less than 2 yrs old and I already have 50,000 plus miles on it. Comment:
I travel 75 miles one way. The area is saturated with new grads and it was hard to find one because I didnt have experience (Im a new grad also) . My hospital has a great training dept and I got a job I wanted. The drive is hard sometimes but feel thankful to have a job. I hope to work closer to home in about a year.

I drive 45 mins each way. Of course I wish I did not have to drive so far, but my job is worth it!

23 miles and/or 30-35 minutes is not an unusual commute at all.

I drive 70 miles each way plus pay the toll. Like HeartsOpenWide, the job is worth it. Though I have a family where I'm very welcome to stay and was given a copy of house key, but there's no place like home. I do dropped by before going to work or stay if am too tired to drive after work.

Why is your mother upset about your commute? Are you driving her car? Is she paying for your gas? I currently drive 15 miles one-way for work, though that's going down to 3 miles soon. I once drove about 120 miles one-way for an out-of-town flu shot gig.

I live in Chicago and it's a 15 minute walk door-to-door.

for one job, 2 miles (5ish mins). For the other, 28 miles (25-30mins)

Quote from sweetsleep28Nope I'm not driving her car, nor is she paying for my gas. So I'm not exactly certain as to why she her panties in a bunch over me driving a llittle farther to get to work. I'm 28 and havent even lived at home since I was 18. My brother who is younger drives twice as far to get to and from work. Personally I don't think a 30-35 minute commute is bad at all. While living in WV and going to nursing school in PA, I drove about 1hr and 20 minutes one way to get to a clinical site.
