My Interview--Please what do you think???? Do not ignore me!!Rating: (votes: 0) I got a call back from a hospital for 2nd interview. Was surprised and happy because the first interview, I went to drop my resume and they just interview me on the spot. And the questions I was asked was what they call Behavioral Interview ( Google it, I just learn about it) Anyway, they caught me off guard but I must have done good , a month later was called for a second. My 2nd interview, was with the nurse manager, the only questions she asked me was tell me about your self and what can you offer us. Anyway, I was nervous , but answered the questions with my best of the ability. She said it sounds good and told me about the position ( L & D nurse---which I love) and we talked about vacation time as well. Then she took me and introduce me to other nurses and 2 of the nurses took me around and showed me everything including locker room. Everyone was so nice and smiling.I was so excited and happy even too come this far. This hospital is one of Newyork finest private hospital and I am just blown away they are considering me with my ADN and new grad status. Finally the manager come and get me , asked me if I have any questions , I asked her a couple of questions. Then we were done so she said , Well I still have to do a few interview and recruitment will contact you in a week. Anyway that was it, I send her thank you note once I got home and my desire to work there...etc. Anyway, what does it mean???? I never reached to interview where they gave me a tour. I know I should be patient but I can't sleep and eat. Can I perdict anything, would they gave a tour and introduction for nothing??? I just want somebody to tell me something. I swear I am struck with anxiety. Please just say something to me , those of you with experience. Thanks ![]() I've received tours on almost all my interviews. I think it's a normal process of allowing YOU to feel them out. You can get a good feel for a unit when you magically show up without notice. Comment:
So did you get the jobs after the tour? By the way the first interview was at the office from a HR that was a walk in, the 2nd interview was with the manager , they actually called me and made an appointment.
Comment:
The tour is a good sign, but not a sure thing, basically. They wouldn't waste their time giving you a tour if you hadn't done well in the second interview, but they're probably going to give a tour to everyone who does well in the second interview. Hope that this turns out well for you! Just as an FYI--stating, "Do not ignore me!!" in the thread is not the way to get a lot of sympathetic readers and responses. Much nicer to ask than to order.
Comment:
Oh I am so sorry, but I am not ordering at all. I am sorry if it come across that way. Not my intenstion at all!!!Very very sorry...Please Do not Ignore me!! That's what I meant. But, you made me feel better, Thanks for the best wish!! I am just tired of looking for a job and I just wnat to stop and work! Its just the suspense of waiting is KILLING me!!

Keep thinking positively, but don't stop looking. we try to have a manager meet with all applicants and give a tour. If you showed up on the spot, and met with HR, they may not have had a manager that could meet with you. Hence the second interview. It may be a good sign, but I would keep my options open.
Comment:
Thanks CathyLew, Yes I am thinking positively even mark my calender October 12, because that will be the day they said I will start if I am offered the position. I was just wondering if Floor Tour have a special meaning? Since especially it was after the interview. Anyway, I am a newbee for everything!!Anyway, I got a call yesterday from another hospital out of the blue, I went to that particular hospital in May and now they called me. My interview is Monday for Psych position. I loved Psych during roation, but I am crazy about L&D. I thank all of you for all the nice words. We will see , I can't wait to post 'I GOT A JOB'
Comment:
Grats on the interviews, and I hope we see that job post from you very soon!
Comment:
Unless they offer you the position, you are expending a lot of energy waiting.I hope you get what you want, but don't stop looking.
Comment:
I always felt that touring gives a chance for the nurses that already work there to give their opinions of the interviewee.Congratulations on getting a 2nd interview, its hard to even get a 1st interview.
Comment:
I hate to be negative but don't get to excited showing you around doesn't mean you got the job ......
Comment:
Thank you all, I know very well, unless they offer me the job does not mean anything--Its hopeful though. Since I start looking for job, this one is the first time that I got tour of the place. My heart were broken twice, because I thought I got a real chance. Anyway, I try not to get it in my head too much, but can't help it!!! I think about it constantly, but now I have to focus my energy for Monday's interview.Anyway, hope they let me know soon, one way or another so I can breath and move on.

I recently had an interview as well and they also wanted to show me around (however I actually never got to see my potential future units-I applied for both L and D and peds cause the unit manager got paged and was just busy so now I'm a a sole mercy of only human resource person (sucks because if she didnt like me I basically out!,heh my life story!) So trust me I have been sitting on pins and needles since thursay,I rather have the bad news than just sitting in suspence and beating myself up for making stupid mistakes during the interview process.I will approach this situation as a learning experience I guess, things get better with time!! GD to U!
