Any Muslim surgical technologist/scrub nurses in allnurses?

Hi,

I'm a Muslim and I am considering becoming a surgical tech. I wear hijab and I was wondering if there's any Muslims here who are surgical techs who I can ask some questions about how you wear hijab in the OR. And if anyone else knows how a muslim scrub nurse wears hijab or has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.
Ahlan wa Salan! I'm a Muslim nurse, can't help you with the surgical tech portion. In all honesty, I stopped wearing hijab when I started looking for a job. I didn't think there was any way I'd get a job in FL as a hijabi nurse. Maybe Dearborn or NY, but not here. But since then, I've come across several hijabis who are either nurses or techs--I see them at Starbucks wearing scrubs. I almost wish I'd kept it on, but it is kind of interesting being a "stealth Muslim." I find out a lot of interesting things that people probably wouldn't say if they knew my religion. I'd assume your hijab would need to relatively close fitting without loose ends i wonder how theywould feel about this one?

WOW! thank you so much for these pics Unavailable. And yeah I would wear it like the woman one the left in the last picture, underneath the scrubs. I am just concerned that there would be a problem with the hijab covering my neck and being exposed in the OR.

wouldnt it be okay as long as it didnt hang? i dont know the requirements for a scrub tech but i know when i was doing clinicals in the summer, i just kept it inside my scrub shirt so that it didnt hang..
