Global orphan health

I'm inviting all nurses to follow a new initiative in orphan care....kind of a think tank with an interdisciplinary focus, but my desire is to engage nurses of all kinds in the efforts to create models of health care and well-being for orphans around the world. I just launched a web site, www.orphanhealthproject.com and invite you to be involved in this important area of global health. For all the emphasis in nursing on vulnerable populations, orphans have been left out of the equation most of the time. I want to see that change! We're on Facebook, too.

I'm a doctoral nursing student and will be doing dissertation research next year on child-headed households in Malawi who are affiliated with a community-based orphan care center. The emphasis will be on understanding the relationship between vulnerability and well-being of orphans.
Will check out the site. It's good to see a concern for international health.
