Urine gs/cs question.

The pt is for urine gs cs tom morning but the antibiotic ceftriaxone 1g iv was started at 6pm yesterday. First dose was given. Is it still okay to perform the urine test? Can someone enlighten me please. Tnx nurses. Ur of bug help. asked the med tech if its okay he said yes. Is it? Tnx
Anytime you send any kind of culture, you can need to provide a list of what antibiotics the patient has taken. Of course you can still send the culture. How else will you know if the bacteria in the sample will be treated by the ceftriaxone? The med tech is right.
