stepdown tele nurses x2yr now what?Rating: (votes: 0) ![]() There is something to be said about work/life balance. Pursue the PCCN, offer to teach a class or 2 for your unit-keeping you engaged and challenged or wrok on a project workgroup.Good luck! Comment:
I work on a tele/ICU step-down floor as well. It's a very intense job. Take PCCN (I can't wait to get to the point where I can take it) and see where you want to go from there. Many of the RNs on my floor have PCCN.

You could also try going to ICU. You'll do the most learning there. I learn something new everyday.

Have you been charge nurse on this unit? If not I suggest pursuing that before moving on to a new department. It will give you a good challenge, look awesome on your resume and will put you ahead of your competition when applying for a new position.
