Nurses pictures on patients whiteboards???Rating: (votes: 0) Oh, dear. I'm notoriously unphotogenic and this policy would not be welcome. I can totally understand putting the nurses' names up somewhere in the room as it can be hard as a patient to remember day to day, but pictures? It seems weird to me too. Did they say why they want to do this? I swear some hospital administrators just come up with the most bizarre things. Comment:
Oh brother, I hope this is not going to be another thing all the hospitals jump on the band wagon with! I've seen some hospital depts where everyone's picture is on the wall and then the manager will ask if they had any problems with anyone, pick the picture! This must be all part of the customer service push, the customer is always right, all the easier to write someone up if you have their picture! Just something to make our job even harder, I'm always walking on eggshells as it is these days. Give me a break!

We have a board in every pt room were we have to write our name and their doc and discharge date so if they need their nurse they can say my nurse is so and so but no pictures

How much did this cost? What a waste of resources.

Be sure to don your grim reaper costume for picture taking day

That is so ridiculous that I'll bet my hospital will jump right on it.

We have the white boards with info on them but no pictures. I don't like that idea.

I like the names on the whiteboards....but I think pictures are a little much. We have discussed pictures on a board in the hallway but so far that hasn't materialized and I'm certainly not going to remind them!

The hospital I am at proposed this around a year ago. For once we all felt very lucky for inability of admin to follow through. Mass rumblings throughout the nursing staff. The most valid arguments, though don't know if they were part of why it hasn't happened, were of safety since we get a lot of gang bangers with injuries, etc. Not that they or their visitors would hurt staff, but it sort of felt like leaving your keys in the car.

So whose job will it be to do the nursing picture shuffle every shift?

Why not put your address and phone numbers up as well? Don't nurses have privacy rights too?
