Question About Employment

Hey everyone,
I was wondering, if I don't do a nurse externship in university, get a lot of work experience in a hospital, put it on my resume, am I still likely to get a job once I graduate? Or does that put me in jeopardy of not being wanted by any hospital?

I'm a 3rd year (Junior) nursing student getting her BSN. I go to a hospital and work with the nurses for some extra experience but not as an extern and in the state I live (MD), they require you are CNA certified to work in the hospitals. I'm not sure if it's a good idea to do because I only have a year left as a student nurse before I take the NCLEX-RN.
Bump. really want answers guys

Comment:
IMO you're more likely to hired after you graduate if you already work in a healthcare facility. I worked in a hospital for my last year of nursing school and they hired me about one and a half months after I graduated. You'll get your foot in the door and get experience. Plus, if you do it now, you'll have a year of experience under your belt. We didn't really have externships (I did a ASN program). I say go for it.
