I Was written up today for forgetting things I am so upset I can not stop crying , I had cryed all day about it ! Long story short I have so med problems and had some problems with my last surgery I forgot how to read some words, have lots of problems writhing and remembering things l also forget what day it is all the time and who my co-workers are and I tend to just go blank and when I come out of it I do remember what I was doing and will do the same thing over and over again .

I was told that the wright up was to make me think about what I am doing ,But how ccan I do that what I truly have no idea what I have done ?? I really want to go back to school to be an RN and I think case mag. would be good for me but how am I going to that ? I went and looked into classes I would almost have to start all over ..

I called an tharpy place today "still sodding on the phone" and got nowhere I am just so upset , my boss is planing to come sit with me tomorrow what am I going to do when she sees me blank out and stair at the walls ??? she will flip out and then I will be fired !!!!
I'm sorry you are having a hard time. I honestly don't know what to say since I barely understood your post. I hope it gets better for you. Maybe you should see your PCP to see why you are having such a hard time focusing. Good luck to you.

No. Someone with problems like the ones you claim you have cannot be an RN.

Seriously, if things are as messed up with you as you say they are seek professional help. Internet forums are the first or even the last place I'd go looking for help in a situation like this.

Quote from Trekfanwhat about case magament ? where you would not do bedside nurseing ?

Just get your meds straightened out and on a plan that gets you to a better place. If your PCP can't do it, then find someone who can.

It is really not safe to work with patients in any capacity when you occasionally "blank out". Even working case management you have to be on the ball. People are depending on you to get things done and you can't just leave everyone hanging because you forgot what you were doing.

I agree with the above posters. Nursing is a very serious profession and lives are at state as well as your own livelyhood, please seek professional advice before you make a major decision to become an RN. I wish you the best in whatever path you take. God bless you.

Blanking out is serious stuff. You could be having TIA's also called mini strokes, it's time to call in the big guns & see a neurologist. You have to take care of you first. Are you driving a car? If so, stop. The hazard to yourself & others is dire. Get your health sorted out first, then move on to helping others if you feel the call. It may not be in the cards for you to be an RN, but that doesn't mean you can't contribute to others in a meaningful way.I pray you find the cause of the problem & find peace & happiness in your life.
