Took new position...

I took a job at a new place thinking it would be a typical RN type job. Turns out there is no one but the MAs to train me. I feel out of place and clueless about what I am supposed to be doing half the time. My last job I had direction. I was busy from the min. I walked in to the min. I clocked out. Now, I am told that I am supposed to be doing patient teaching, but the MDs never ask me to talk to any of the pts. I am the only RN at this clinic. There is a NP but she only comes in once a week. She is a provider and is usually very busy. I have no experience with clinics. I have been there a month and so far its just been about helping the MAs room pts, drawing blood and learning nextgen and i2i. I am not sure if I should stick with this or look for something new. I am a ADN nurse, and the position was asking for a masters, The hiring staff knew my degree level and are giving me six months to learn my position. I am just worried that I willl not be able to do this.
I also miss doing bedside nursing. Bed side nursing is very clear and at least there I know exactly what is expected of me each day.
You have been given a fantastic opportunity.What is the patient population in this clinic? What is your written job description ? If the docs want you to teach...ASK them.. what information do these clients need? Approach each patient after the doctor has completed the visit, and start teaching regarding the reason for the visit. Just talk to them.. and find out their concerns.Ask the MA's what the nurse that previously held this position did.You are in a different setting, but remember you also taught in the hospital setting.However.. my concern is... is this a legitimate clinic?

Thanks for your advice. I have been more proactive the past few days. I have been reviewing the next days schedule and lettting the providers know who I need to see for teaching. They have been really good about making sure I can see them. I know this a great opportunity. I am sure there are plenty of people who would love this job. People who went to school a lot longer then I did. I just happen to be used to living off the grid. It is a federally qualified clinic. They exist almost completely on grants. They also work closely with several universities. We are also working on becoming a patient centered medical home. Anyways, thanks for your encouragement. It was helpful.
