First job in acute care...coming from LTC

Hello! I graduated from nursing in 2010. I did my practicum in a LTC facility. I got my first job at a rehabilitation place. Lots of MS, head injuries, strokes... all long term care. I'm starting to feel like I want to learn more...use more of my skills. So applied for a temporary 12 month job at a hospital, and I got it! The unit is internal med. 32 beds. 4 teams, consisting of 1 LPN and 1 RN. I'm very excited but nervous because in LTC we maybe do 4 IVs a year...For the past week I have been doing some studying to regain some knowledge! What is your day like in acute care? What should I be studying the most? I feel like I'm mostly lacking in the IV area, especially meds. Learning which drugs are incompatible ect.
Do you find your day very stressful??
Thank - you!
