Online Presence for Nurses?

In 2011, Forbes Magazine published "5 Reasons Why Your Online Presence Will Replace Your Resume in 10 Years." As an avid user of the web and social networking for professional purposes, I found the article quite helpful but was also compelled by the concept of an "online presence." While the Forbes article specifically addressed ways in which people could create a "professional" online presence, I think it is equally important in today's world to establish one's self collectively online. What are your thoughts?
