"Geo Diff" Pay?

What is "geo diff"? I see 8% on top of base salary. But does that mean because I have a certain amount of experience (3 years)?

Are you in the armed services? That sounds like a geography difference for different locations in the country.

It's more expensive to live and work in NYC than it is in Castine ME or Sidney NE. Geographic differential.
