Proper use of Social Media by nurses

1 Here is a great article to help nurses use social media properly. I just read on another thread how someone got fired for posting something on Facebook. I, personally, got warned by my employer for alluding to a humorous presentation in my job in the ER. They were great about it, it was treated as a teaching moment, and it wasn't a big deal, and I'm thankful for it. It made me much more aware.

The article is from the ANA. Be careful what you write here at All Nurses! Your co-workers or managers might very well be reading here, and might have put two and two together as to your identity. I also advise that you not log into either Facebook or this site from a work computer!

We have had quite the discussion on another thread about this....http://allnurses.com/hipaa-nursing-c...ml#post7730145In the generation of social media the acceptance into their lives blurs the appropriate sharing of patient content.
