Nurses want...

I am a nursing student and just took a position as an ER tech. I want to be the best that I can at the position, be helpful to the nurses, and learn as much as I can in the process!
I'm always very proactive and the nurses in clinical love me, but I haven't been in the ER yet.
So any advice is greatly appreciated! What do you want from your ER techs?

I can't speak for ER nurses as I work in the ICU, but in general I want my techs to be proactive in offering assistance and timely in their tasks. I hate seeing techs sitting around on the computer or huddled up together gossiping while I am bathing a patient by myself. For the techs that are eager to help me, I show/teach them as much as possible. Good luck! You will learn a lot from the nurses, I know that I did when I was an nursing assistant.
