Give me some hope...Is ANYONE happy being a nurse??Rating: (votes: 0) Follow YOUR heart and gut feeling. It is your life. Comment:
Your decision to go into nursing should never be based on what others on here feel about the profession. Remember, people come on here to vent, but there are many of us who love what we do. I agree that with nursing there are more opportunities, but that among others things should be your deciding factor.

We can't tell you what to do.I do love my job.

Nursing makes me happy because there is money to be made. As you say, there are certainly A LOT more opportunities in nursing.

I love my job. That said, at this particular time, I would not recommend anyone go to nursing school unless they have an uncle who is the CEO of the local hospital. Otherwise, the financial risks are not worth the very great possibility of not getting a job for months or even years after graduation.

Most people only go through the trouble of posting when they have a problem. That's the issue with yelp and the like, people jump to complain.

No one ever posts "and nothing happened". Knowing what the job market is like in your area is important but if being a nurse is where your heart is I say go for it.

I love what I do.. Don't get me wrong, there are things and days I am at my wits end but I still love it.Follow your heart

Internet folks cannot/should not be the basis for your life's decisions.

My radiology friends are happier than my nursing friends and make excellent money too. At my facility, hardly any turnover in employees. But they are limited in where they can work. More opportunities in nursing. I have a coworker that started in radiology and is now a nurse. She works in the er and radiology prn. You can do both if you wish

I LOVE being a nurse. Plan wisely, get into a hospital as a cna asap, and know it may be difficult to find a job depending on where you live. As others have said just because someone else loves/hates something doesn't mean you will feel the same.

Thank you all for your replies!! I certainly will make my decision based on my gut however, it really did just seem as if being a nurse was a losing battle in this day and age. No one seemed satisfied. I am 31 and have already spent 11 years in a corporate job where I was absolutely miserable. I know why I want to be a nurse I just wanted to be sure that you could still nurse with your heart as well as your head and be fulfilled as cheesy as that may sound.
