What did you get for nurses week?

1 I'll go first,
Icecream social, free massages at work and a picnic blanket with hospital logo. I'm sure there are other things I've left out but this is what we got so far.
Food.

Not a damn thing ...oh well

Comment:
Pizza...that I couldn't eat since I don't eat cheese.

Comment:
A text from my pharmacist brother saying "happy nurse appreciation day, now don't you have some senile patient who crapped his pants you have to clean up?" no respect.

Since I'm the boss, I got to give myself the day off. I got to talk with an old friend (who is a nurse) for a couple of hours, because she has a bad disease and she needed a nurse. And I got to go to a great program on Linda Richards, the first trained nurse in the US who opened the nursing school at Man's Greatest Hospital (see House of God), see a beautiful portrait of her unveiled, and chat with some other nurses. A little vaca day in the midst of chaos.

Comment:
Bagels for breakfast and a metallic water bottle labeled "made from China". My co-worker handed it back and said "no thanks".

Comment:
Chocolates, sit-down breakfast served by department managers and door prizes. Cake later in the week.

Comment:
Nothing absolutely Nothing-but I get treated well everyday so I'll take that

Comment:
A white hat made of foam by the nursing leadership. My work BFF declined, stating "No thanks, I need my brain."I know some old school RN will be unhappy at that comment, but I see hats as emblems of the bad old days. I also work in the ER, which is a newer specialty that inherently leads to a closer relationship with the doctors.
