Refresher course for personal reasons

I've been a practicing nurse for three years, but I still don't feel like I "know a lot". Nursing school was a blur, I just can't learn as quick as what was expected of me.

Anyways, I want to take a refresher course, but they are so expensive and I am between jobs right now. I feel like I will learn a lot because I have a lot of experience and any information I learn will really sink in well at this point.

Are there super affordable, theory only courses I can take? Would be be better to just crack open my text book and review or do saunders review questions? Anyone have suggestions?

Again, I am looking to brush up on my med/surg knowledge for my own personal development
I would crack open the texts for free or buy less expensive review-type books and study them.

Ya know I think that's be best advice. Also, I found an ANA website where you can review topics and take quizzes that count as continuing education credits!

Yeah, refresher courses seem to be more for people who have been out of practice for a long time
