I think I'll go with the person who told me that sometimes in hospice care couples with a dying spouse request privacy for "one last time" That had never occurred to me, but I'm not a hospice nurse. It really changed my outlook as well as being so touching and tear-inducing.What I tend to remember are the funny things people say like the one who talked about practicing injections on a "mechanical butt".
