needing career path advice

I will be graduating in December and I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions about which area to begin. I am very interested in ED and critical care and possibly L&D. I would appreciate any feedback about how new grads perform in these areas and suggestions of the best area to gain the knowledge that was learned "in theory" in the classroom. By graduation I will have had 3 years of clinical experience as a student and I also work when time permits as an extern in a hospital in multiple areas. Any advice would be appreciated.

Make the decision with your heart and your "gut." Life is too short to work any job that doesn't satisfy your soul. To over-analyze it will only lead you to always question whether or not you made the right decision.
bwb22...I agree with llg...follow your heart but be prepared to detour if needed! I've worked in a number of clinical areas and I found that what I THOUGHT about a particular area was not always correct. I discovered too that I liked specialties that I never expected to like! :chuckle The good news about nursing is that you can work in a specialty area for awhile and transfer to a new area (and learn new skills) if it isn't the best fit for you...you are not necessarily making a forever commitment. help.. i heard from a US agency that work experiences from middle east countries are not recommended because it would be difficult to get a police clearance and other release documents to work in the united states? and it would be better to get a work experience here in the Philippines. how true is that?cause we are planning to go to Abu Dhabi this late July for a job opportunity in a government hospital there.can you give us some insights?thanks in advance! =)
