Flight Nurse career path: how do i get there?Rating: (votes: 0) I am a 3rd semester student in an ADN program. I am keenly interested in becoming a flight nurse. I am currently BLS and ACLS certified. At the moment I am applying to Emergency Departments in my local area as a technician. I am hoping to get some clinical experience, as well as my foot in the door once i graduate in May 09'. Are there any other classes that i should be working on while i'm waiting to get a job and the experience i will need to achieve my dream? From what I understand, I need about 3 years ED and 3 years in ICU/CC. Eventually I would like to certify in both of those specialties. Can anyone else point me in the right direction? I have seen some universities that offer a "flight nursing" degree, or acute care nurse master's programs. Where should i be focusing right now? (Besides my current nursing curricullum, obviously! ![]() Check out this forum, hopefully a mod will move it here.Flight Nursing and Surface Transport Nursing http://allnurses.com/forums/f19/ Comment: ...hehe... i actually found that forum after i posted this. apparantly this question has been asked many times, but thank you for responding.:imbar:imbar:imbar:imbar:imbarComment: I'm glad you found your answer there.
