Confusion about where to apply for licenseRating: (votes: 0) I currently live in South Dakota, a compact state, and will graduate nursing school this December. My husband is military, and we'll be moving to Texas by the end of the year, which is another compact state. I want to keep my residency in South Dakota, so I am unsure of which state I need to get my nursing license through. I understand that your primary state of residency is the state where you are registered to vote, have a driver's license, etc. I have all of that through South Dakota, but when I move to Texas and start working, will I need to become a Texas resident anyway??? Life for a military spouse is sooo confusing sometimes!! ![]() Quote from curliegirl80I hope I am posting this in the right forum....I currently live in South Dakota, a compact state, and will graduate nursing school this December.
