Considering a career change

Please bear with me, I'm new to this site.
I need some advice. I'm considering a career change and looking into becoming a LPN.
I'm 33 years old, currently unemployed (approx 6 months now) and seriously thinking of finally taking the big leap and making a career change. If I qualify, I may be eligible to get my schooling paid for. That's not the issue.
I would love to get a head start and try to find a job in the field, though I currently have no experience.
Can anyone advise me where to look? I'm sure an internship or something like that would be ideal, but hey, I'm unemployed and need money to survive. Any suggestions?
