Returning to work and stuck.

I have been out of the hospital/work for the past 3 years due to a move and then having my daughter.
Have been away from allnurses too, but that is a different thread.

Any job that I have gotten in the past I have gone to HR filled an application, interview, and start working. With the change to electronic submissions I know you have to shine even more. I just am not sure what to do to add that extra shine.
I am at a loss as to sparkling a little bit more than the next person. I have applied to multiple positions and have been turned away each time for not being qualified.
Any advice would be appreciated.
