open interview dayRating: (votes: 0) There was an advertisement of "open interview" from one of the top leading hospital in nyc. It says "we are seeking experienced nurses for our new high acuity med/surg are with hotel-like amenties" There was no conditions for example " BSN nurses only, or review your resume and call you by manager if you are currently in the BSN program." as they advertised. However, things happened.....there were a lot of nurses waiting for their first cut from the secretary. "What??!!" I thought "this is an open interview and whoever has an med-surg experience can come and have an interview" There were some nurses who have turned down because of the hospital's hidden qualification in terms of hiring nurses. Currently I am unemployed RN for about a year and I have 5 plus years of experience and I only have associated degree in nursing but will go to school in 2010. These kind of economic situation, not only other gorup of workers but also we, nurses are having a tough time to find a job. I was trilled to have this great opportunity just having an interview..... I am wondering why the hospital gave the faulse hope to nurses who were desperated and made me foolish to believe the so called "open interview days"....if i knew about this, i would not go there and i did not have to go through the emotions like angry or dissapointing. "NO ONE DESERVES THAT" this is the "new york-presbyterian the university hospital of columbia and cornell" ...so anyone who is interested in making a trip to there then be prepare for their two faces otherwise they will cut you off without any sympathy. what do u think guys? Comment: I agree with you but "open interview" is open to every nurses who have an experience in med/surg like they advertised. I may not get that job but should have the interview chance??Comment: Quote from maggio13I agree with you but "open interview" is open to every nurses who have an experience in med/surg like they advertised.
