Hi. I'm a RN with a little over two years of med-surg/telemetry experience. I have lived in Maine my entire life and became a nurse so that I could travel...now I feel that I have put in my "time" getting my foundation in med surg and would like to start putting a plan together so I can travel. I would greatly appreciate some career advice from experienced traveling nurses. Should I go into an specialty, ie ER, OR or CCU before thinking about traveling? Or is my telemetry experience sufficient? Also, do you have any personal recommendations about one particular travel agency being better then another? What can I reasonably expect, in regards to monatary compensation, housing allowances, benefits etc? How do the assignments/work loads differ from that of a regular staff RN?
Thank you in advance for your time and input...
~Erin
