Listing bachelors on LPN resume?

Rating:
(votes: 10)

i have recently passed my lpn boards and am in my rn transition program. i have been looking for jobs for a few weeks now with no success. a friend of mine suggested that i remove my previously earned bachelors degree from my resum as it is not health care related and actually may be a hindrance to me in the job search process. i always thought that you were to list every previously earned degree on a resum and that omitting it would be dishonest. i figured that hiring managers are aware that many new people in the healthcare field are coming from different backgrounds etc, esp in this economy. should i only list lpn education as i am looking for an lpn job?
Your bachelors is part of your education history. If it were me, I'd list it, regardless of whether or not its health care related.
Comment:
I listed my bachelor's on my resume when I was looking for a CNA job. I felt it was important to be thorough. Plus, being college educated should not negatively affect your search. Maybe if you had graduate degrees you could appear overqualified, but not with a bachelor's.
