new grad - home health hospice LTC etc. what is best?

I'm a new grad nurse, and I realize that acute-care jobs are rare. Should I try for one type of position over the other? --Home health, hospice, LTC, doctor's office, etc.? I really would like to work in a hospital, but I really don't think it's likely right out of the gate in this economy.

I have also been surprised to learn that wages for new grads in non-hospital jobs are a lot lower that I expected. --They are lower than at the hospitals and they lack benefits. This was a surprise. When I started school, nurses were getting fat hiring bonuses. Oh well.
