From interview to offer (or not)

How long have you had to wait from the interview until the offer (or rejection)?

So far:
Job 1: Rejection the next day
Job 2: Still no news, 2.5 weeks (but I'm not that interested)
Job 3: 4 days, no news yet

Interview 3 is the job I really want. The interview went very well and I sent a letter the next day. I know it's only been four days and i need to give it time, but I'm getting antsy. I forgot to ask at the end of the interview when to expect a response.
Anyone? I'm going nuts waiting for follow up from my interview last week. I'm still moving ahead with other applications but the wait is driving me crazy.
Comment:
I've had responses anywhere from less than one day to a month. In about a week or so you could send a "just following up, do you need anything else from me?" message, but be careful how often you do that: pestering them for a response can backfire on you.Good for you for applying elsewhere...because no matter what they said or promised you in the interview, you don't have a job until you have that official offer. Don't stop applying for other jobs until you get it.Good luck!

I don't think my case is the norm, but I applied in April of last year. I was finally called for an interview for August last year. Had a shadow day 3 weeks later in September. Then I was finally told in October they liked me during the interview, but could only hire one person at the present time (the spot was for November). Nurse recruiter told me she would be in contact if anything became available. Then I finally got a call in December offering me a position for February. I start next week. So from start to finish for me was about 6 months. Talk about a long wait!
Comment:
Wow, I hope I don't have to wait that long. This is for a residency that starts in April... so from THEIR perspective there's plenty of time, but from my perspective I need to know whether I can call off the job search, and start making arrangements for this job.

Just remain positive it took me 4 weeks to get my offer...Where is it?

Quote from hiddencatRNInterview 2 was for a residency program, and the folks who DID get offered jobs there fro my class all heard about 2 weeks before the start date of the residency (interviews were about a month before the start date). Since the residency starts in April, they might not make decisions for a while yet (are they still interviewing candidates? the residency I applied for had two set interview days).

Interview 1: I told her I just had a baby, so she told me during the interview she would keep in touch with me for future positions.Interview 2: Still nothing (u know about that 1) been about a month.Interview 3: 5 days, offer! The waiting game sucks so bad. I too have to consider child care, but I already have a car, but the bills are piling up.
