Confusion...Difference between NP DNP and MD

Alright guys lets start this off by saying i would love facts! Not a who is better war or anything (i have read those on other sites lol)

Alright I have a BSN in nursing. if i I wanted to be an NP... would I get a masters degree first and then go on or what? and how many more years would it be?

for a DNP. what is the difference between that and an NP??? would that be getting a doctorate in nursing??
i am confused.

And an MD obviously is even more school and I know what they do but how much difference is that between an DNP?

anyways, i probably sound dumb but I just started looking into everything. I know I definitely want my MSN but would like my other options too Thanks!
