Hello. I'm a new PCA with the ultimate career goal of Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. I would love to work in the neonatal area/ mother's unit as soon as possible. I have absolutely no experience with prenatal or post-delivery situations. I've gotten calls from more general areas within the hospital (cardiology, oncology, med-surg) but I would )love your opinions on how to improve my job marketability and to specialize it more towards babies and their mothers. I've thought of a few things that I could do (doula training, lamaze classes, breastfeeding classes, job shadowing, volunteering) and was wondering if you had any other ideas. I would also like to know what you think about an adult job shadowing on a regular basis (maybe once a month). I've only had experiences with job shadowing when I was in high school. Is is acceptable for an adult to do this? Thank you for any help!!
