clinical experience: - 6 week, 192 hour practicum on a cardiac telemetry unit- total care of 4-5 patients under rn supervision - other clinical rotations included neuro icu, respiratory/oncology, postpartum, pediatrics, mental health, and long term care education: university abc, anywhere, usa bachelor degree in nursing, 2006-2010 gpa- 3.758, graduated cum laude license/certification: rn-board certified, state of indiana cpr certification, updated january 2011 references: available upon request moved to our nursing career advice visit my thread for current thinking on nursing resumes: 2012 tips: perfecting nursing resume, cover letter + online nursing job applications need stronger objective statement to set yourself apart from competition who use similar phrasing. i'd combine first and last summary of qualification statements:use evidence based practices to provide quality nursing care.i'd drop 2nd line of clinical experience as all bsn nursing students have those rotations. not all have nursing programs have practicum -want that to be clearly seen. focus on professional experience that you have -nicely outlined under nursing skills, to avoid appearing as new nursing graduate. correct license certification section.certification is: voluntary process;by a private organization;for the purpose of providing the public information on those individuals who have successfully completed the certification process (usually entailing successful completion of educational and testing requirements) and demonstrated their ability to perform their profession competently. licensure, on the other hand, is the state’s grant of legal authority, pursuant to the state’s police powers, to practice a profession within a designated scope of practice.instead list: indiana rn license + dates. current thinking is not to list license # on resume so if resume goes astray, no one can get hold of your number. employeers can verify online in most states under name + will verify against license copy provided at interview. |
