Career move

I am getting my ANP very slowly. I have been working as a telemetry RN for 5 years. I would like to move into the ICU for the experience but having a hard time "getting in". Anyway, I have an opportunity to work in dialysis but am on the fence about whether it would be a wise career move. So many people are "rushing to NP". I feel the job offers when I get there will go to people with long and broad experience. I see so many nurses graduating with NP with 5 years and less. Any thoughts?
Speaking from experience - my organization really doesn't hire inexperienced NPs into 'NP-level' positions. Minimal experience levels for positions associated with acute care is 5 years relevant experience; 3 years for ambulatory/ non-acute positions. Physicians may be hiring NPs with less experience, but I am not aware of any. You're definitely on the right track.
