Job Interview

Alright, so I had my first job interview today, (ever! since out of nursing school), I was so nervous, and I know she could probably tell, but I think overall it went pretty well. I really like the DON, she was very friendly and it was a really good experience. So I wanted to ask, I got a tour of the facility, met the people who work there, and I am to get my fingerprints done soon, does this mean I am hired?
I am really excited about this place, it is super nice, and the people there seemed really friendly...anyways, any input is appreciated
What else did the DON say? Getting your fingerprints taken may mean your hired, it may also mean they are doing a criminal background check which they do on all of us. If she took you on a tour that sounds pretty promising. I wish you the best of luck and hope and pray all goes well.

She talked to me in future tense, like example "I will have you train with so and so for this long" and then you'll do this...I don't want to get all excited until I go in to work...but it sounds pretty good right???

Well, if they took fingerprints for a background check, I think they would only do that if they are seriously considering you. But I try not to get to excited unitl I get the actual offer. Sounds promising though!

It is! I really like the place, but I dont want to get my hopes up...she said I needed to have my fingerprints processed before they can do my drug test...

Background checks are not cheap, so if they fingerprinted you, depending on what it shows, I would think that they will call you with an offer. Of course, you can always call the DON and ask her. Better yet, send her a thank you note, which I understand is THE thing to do after any interview, whether an offer has been made or not. Good luck...hope it turns out well for you.

I think if she gave you a tour, introduced you to staff and you are getting fingerprinted, I would guess you are in the running for being hired. When I interview, I use "if you are the selected/successful candidate"........The DON obviously liked you. Good Luck

ALWAYS send a thank you note after an interview. Do it the same day if possible. It is one more way to make the interviewer remember you. It also gives you an opportunity to clarify any points or add any information you might have forgotten to mention. Things sound pretty good. They wouldn't fingerprint you if they weren't at least interested.
