How many nurses?

Rating:
(votes: 0)

I am just curious to see at night, how many nurses are on your floor? How many during the day? Are you ever the only nurse on the whole floor?
We usually have five to seven. I;ve never seen less than four. Six is the average though.

Comment:
They would leave one nurse with up to two patients, but other than that there would be two. In a situation like that they close the floor and move the patients.

Comment:
One nurse at night on the floor, 30 patients, Long term care.

Comment:
3-4 on my unit per night, but the staffing is the same during the day, it depends on our staffing matix

Comment:
It basically depends on the number of nurses required per floor.. Usually 3-5 per shift per floor

Comment:
Job #1: A nursing home with a facility census that fluctuates between 100 and 115 residents. When the census is 107 or greater, there's three nurses at night. When the census dips below 107, there's only two nurses at night.Job #2: A rehabilitation hospital with two floors and a facility census that fluctuates between 28 and 40 patients. There's typically two nurses at night to staff each unit, so this adds up to a total of four nurses on the floor. There's also a night house supervisor.

Comment:
30 beds Spinal injuries unit inc acutes but not ventilatory support earlies 5 to 7 or even 8 RNs + 4 HCAs afters 4or 5 RNs 1 or 2 occasionally 3 HCAs nights 3RNs and 2 HCAs can't go below 4 or ideally 5 pers due to the requirements when turning patients with acute Neck injuries or on traction

Comment:
11 to 7 shift, LTC, 48 pateints (24 rehab pts/24 LTC pts)- 1 Nurse & 2 CNAs = Crazy but do-able

Comment:
Our unit: Days: 6 RNs (one charge), 2, 3 or 4 HCA staff (most often 2). Nights: 5 RNs (one charge), 2 HCA.

Comment:
Ideally, 7-8 at night and 10-11 during the day.

Comment:
2 RNs(one is charge) and 2 RPNs, and 2 PSWs on days and evenings.2 RNs and one RPN nights.
