Business Casual or Professional for Interview?

Which is preferred? Business casual or professional (suit jacket attire)???

I personally would go with Professional whenever possible. For females however, I personally thinkthat a nice dressy-dress is OK as well. I recently went to an interview, and I do not own any professional attire,nor do I have the budget to buy it. So, I wore a nice dress. I thought that I looked very nice, and I felt likeit was better than a blouse or a sweater, and a pair of slacks.

Always, always, always wear professional-level attire in any kind of interview setting, unless you are told in no uncertain terms otherwise. In this sort of employment climate, I'd wear a suit to an interview for a cashier's job at McDonald's. Good luck with your interview!

I have always just worn a nice sweater or button down blouse with a pair of dress slacks. I have even gone into interviews in my scrubs if I did not have time to go home to change. I always told the person setting up the interview that I would be wearing scrubs due to not being able to go home and change. I do not think that the way that I dressed has kept me from getting a job. In fact, the job that I got offered just a few months ago during the interview I was wearing dress slacks and a nice button down blouse.I think it is more important to go in with a confident and positive attitude than to dress in something that makes you fell uncomfortable. Your discomfort will show during the interview and the interviewer will pick up on this. Good luck with the interview!

Suit, nice shoes, portfolio with resume in hand (even if they already have it), and a nice smile. Good eye contact and a firm handshake. You will do well! Good luck!

Personally, l would dress nicely, but comfortably. A nice white shirt, with tie, and shined dress shoes would be all that is needed. I actually had a panel interview with the recruiter, and two unit managers. The recruiter was in simple business attire, the two UM were in scrubs. Now, why would I wish to wear a suit? I am glad I didn't....

I've arranged interviews for hundreds of nurses as a nurse recruiter. Most nurses wear business casual to interviews. No sandals, shorts, jeans or T-shirts. Wear a nice pair of dress slacks and a conservative shirt or blouse.viv
