What states/cities need nurses?Rating: (votes: 0) Nowhere in California. I have heard rural places where most people don't want to live have some jobs. But haven't heard anything recently. I would not stress too much if nursing is what you truly want to do. The economy could be significantly different in two years. Comment:
A few cities in TX. A couple near Houston and Eagle Pass. Houston is pretty good, but be carefull if you head to Eagle Pass. Sign on bonus of $10k-$20k should tell you something. It's a job, though!
Comment:
St. Louis and East st. Louis IL (lived in the area for a few years) are pretty promising, great hospitals too.... defiantly not Pittsburgh.
Comment:
Reno, NV hires new grads. I submitted 2 apps, got 5 face-to-face interviews, and got a job I actually wanted within a couple weeks. They give priority to new grads from the area, but it doesn't hurt to look there.
Comment:
I've also read that New Mexico has new grad positions.
Comment:
Houston really doesn't have great job prospects for new grads at the moment. TMC wants BSNs for the most part, and there's plenty of nursing schools churning out new grads. People can get jobs here, but it can be quite difficult to do so.
Comment:
You might consider a job search website, like Monster, to get your resume out there. Our recruiter scans these websites. Could not tell you about where new grads are being hired. Do not overlook VA hospitals, though
Comment:
Ohio in rural areas. Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati are not very promising.
Comment:
Definitely not Colorado.I've heard there is large demand in Washington DC.
