Help with an Essay QuestionRating: (votes: 0) I'd like some help with an essay question if I could? I really need a steer in the right direction. I haven't started it yet, because I'm not sure where to start!! I just need to discuss any recent advances in the management of atrial arrhythmias /supraventricular arrhythmias or MI's. So has anyone heard of anything spectacular for me to research and write about? It's only a short 2500 word essay. I would appreciate your advice and input. Thanks. I found this article about recent advances for testing for an MI :http://www.nationalreviewofmedicine....icine05_5.html. I thought it was interesting...good luck Comment:
check out cinal search engine and aslo american heart association or cdc might have some info

Thankyou!! I know it's probably not the most difficult question, but I just want something different. I'm loving the spit- test. How awesome is that?

The Mayo Clinic was just approved for cardiac catheter ablation for atrial arrythmias.Look up and compare and contrast this to something like Maze procedures if you're interested. I can't wait til more hospitals start doing this...lifetime anti-coagulation can be very high risk, it would be awesome if we could get more people cured of their chronic afib/aflutter and off of Coumadin!

There is a new oral anticoagulant that doesn't blood tests...Or the connection between sleep apnea and AFib...

Anyway, for those that are interested, at my job we try and get people for an angioplasty within 30 minutes of the MI diagnosis - apparently that's something we've only been doing for about 5 years. Before that it was thrombolytic therapy.I did email some links to my lecturer re: the spit test. I love it, but unfortunately I have to talk about current methods of treatment.

I know it's a similar set up in other hospitals
