Has anyone been in trouble at work over what they posted in allnurses.comRating: (votes: 0) ![]() In a word: yes. Not me, but it has happened. Comment:
Not me but I've heard it has happened.
Comment:
I start my first job soon, so obviously it hasn't happened to me yet. This is a big fear of mine though.
Comment:
No, but I know people it has happened to. Lesson: you are never anonymous on the internet, and even if you have a private profile- people will "report" you. Be wary what you post, even with a false identity.

a colleague of mine left his allnurses.com account up on one of the work computers . . . nice to know what he really thinks about all of us!

Ha! I'm still trying to get someone at work to take an interest in AN! So far, I've only encountered one other South African member, but she doesn't live here anymore....Seriously though, this is an anonymous forum, and although members may seem recognizable, accusing anyone of crossing some line is just not provable. I suppose if the member in question gave out too much info about a specific patient there might be circumstantial evidence, but without actual places and names, I don't see any disciplinary standing up.....

Quote from Blackcat99I am curious if anyone has ever gotten in trouble at work about something they have posted here. I have not gotten into any trouble. Of course, I don't use my real name so I think that helps. Thanks.

I've thought about changing my allnurses gender from female to male or my age from 26 to 56 to throw off anyone trying to figure out my true identity but decided against it for various reasons.

I keep a secret identity online :-)

I've never got in trouble for anything I've posted. But I don't recall really talking badly about my place of employment in specifics. Then again, I don't even mention I know about AN. I did have a former co-worker say "hey, are you XXX on AN? I was reading it and it sounded a lot like you" It wasn't me she was speaking of but it made me realize how easily someone can figure things out given enough info and that yes, I did have co-workers who were on AN. So now I tend to keep my questions/comments here vague enough that I can't be ID'd by co-workers.And for what its worth, I NEVER post anything good/bad or otherwise on my Facebook..ever. Nothing more than, busy shift yesterday..recouping for it today..or RIP ABC, you'll be missed. (I never put the persons name just Ms A or Mr B)
