Endoscopy Nurses!!!! Questions for you! :)

I have a PRN job that I'm starting on thursday at an Endoscopy center, just 1 day a week. I'm a newer nurse, graduated 8/2010, and only have 5 mo family practice experience and I'm currently on orientation on a med/surg fl at a large hospital (3 month orientation, 1 more month to go). I'm interested in finding out more about this field of nursing. Please answer questions below

What are your hours at work?

Would you mind sharing your salary?

Are you FT, PT, or PRN?

How long were you a nurse before you started Endoscopy? (experience)

How long have you been in Endoscopy?

Was this a hard field to get into? What steps did you take?

What do you do daily?

Do you get a lunch break?

Are you on call sometimes of have "off hours"?

What's your least favorite thing(s) about this job?

If you could do it over again, would you still be an Endoscopy?

Thanks!!!!!!

(I know I posted questions about school nursing too, but I'm interested in this as well since I'm starting Prn tomorrow ).

Quote from jollydogg_RN3 month orientation for med/surg??? Wow, I wish I could have found a hospital like this out of nursing school. I might have actually stayed in the hospital setting. Grats btw.

I wont answer all of your questions. . .but a little advice:I would inquire as to what meds you will be expected to administer. Depending on the endoscopy center, you may be the only one administering medications. Know what they are, time it takes to see effects, signs of overdose and what the reversal agents are. I would also recommend knowing a little bit about recovery since sometimes you will be the one recovering the patient after the procedure as well. Hopefully you will receive an orientation that will cover all you need to know (be sure to ask about policies and procedures). I hope you are good at IVs! Good luck
