Strange, isn't it, how someone can make such an impact on us from the internet, of all mediums? Makes us think about really connecting with the people around us who are within our reach. I would have liked to have met Daytonite too.

Now that I'm graduating nursing school I think back to all of those times when I would be working on my homework and I was panicking because I didn't understand nursing diagnoses or something and Joyce's advice would steer me in the right direction. She was brilliant and will be missed.!Chris

I think the best part of Daytonite's wisdom was her ability to explain things so well. Stuff that you just couldn't "get" all of a sudden made perfect sense.I recently read part of a thread from a couple of years back and she had posted on it.It made me miss her all over gain.

When I was in school, I had some trouble areas in advanced pharmacology and I asked a question. Her reply (about 5 paragraphs long!) I have kept in a folder ever since. I attribute my passing that difficult class with an A because of her. I agree, I thought she was brilliant.

Sorry I did not get to read or learn from her. Sorry for your loss.

What most struck me about her responses were their depth and the obvious time that she put into crafting them. She would pay careful attention not to just providing answers but also the rationales and references behind them. She would then utilize different fonts and colors in an effort to clearly lead the reader through the solution. For Daytonite, it was clearly a labor of love and one which, through the efforts of the AN staff, will benefit nursing students for years to come.
