NA interview for pediatric ED helppp!!!!

Ok this is a long post...and im new...so please bare with me.

I have an interview for a nursing assistant position in the Pediatric ed on monday!!! Im currently working at an assisted living facility(geriatrics) and i love it! Ive always wanted to work with children and i feel like i deserve this job. My future goal is to get certified as a NA then hit nursing school as fast as i can! Can anyone tell me what it is like working in peds ed? if i get the job, what can i expect? patient to aide ratio? what are my responsibilities/duties? please help!!!!! thanks((:

I don't work in pediatrics very often, and I don't work in ED, but I bet you'll be expected to take vital signs, blood sugars, transport pts to testing, answer call lights, and maybe draw labs/insert foleys(per your facility). Good luck in the ED! I'm trying to get an ED job as we speak!

I worked as a ED tech before and while in nursing school.Unlike in the nursing homes where there are about 3-4 aides and 1 nurse, in the ED there are about 1 aide for every 3-4 RNs. So you will most likley be doing patient transports, stocking rooms, assisting with procedures ( like helping hold a squirlly child who needs stiches) vital signs, cleaning beds getting them ready for the next one
