Nurses with nose piercings?

Hi I am not a nurse yet, but are there any nurses out there with nose piercings? Do they make you take it out at work?
The hospital I'm doing my externship at this summer only allows one stud in each ear for females, no piercings for males. One of those little clear hole saver things might be an option though, I don't know for sure.

Different facilities have different rules, where I'm at, no piercings except ears.

Everywhere I have ever worked (not just health field) has NOT allowed facial piercings. Odds are it won't be allowed while you are working as a nurse.

If you end up working at a facility that doesn't allow piercings you can always have a nose bone you carry with you, when you are in the bathroom or break room slip it in and take it out if you are concerned. I have had my nose piercing for 4 years and can go about 36 hours without the bone. (that is the longest I have been without because I lost the last one and had to buy a replacement.. it was tight but needed the tightening anyway)

I work at a hospital and I have a nose stud. No one has issues with it. My floor is pretty liberal--there are numerous people with nose studs, visible tattoos and red hair.

I see them all the time on the floor for clinicals, but we aren't allowed to wear them.

So you're wondering if you should wear them or not to wear them?I would just never hire someone with face jewelry or visible tattoos.My staff will project a positive appearance at all times or you're not even considered. It happens after you're hired you're gone. Plain and simple.Harsh? Not from my angle. So if an Indian nurse applied, you wouldn't hire her based on her nosering, which is a cultural thing for her?

Also, it's pretty bold to assume someone has no self respect just because they chose to get a piercing you wouldn't get. I wouldn't get a poodle perm but I'm not going to judge someone (or refuse to hire them) based on their decision.

I don't think a nose piercing is trashy, and I think its ignorant to judge someone based on their appearance. If they made it through nursing school, that's all that matters....not a silly nose stud.
