Wound care certification for nurses.Rating: (votes: 0) I just attended a "wound care course" today with total of CE of 4 units. The RN who provided the course total of 8 hours of class today, she put "WCC" on her name I mean she spell her name like this Mini Mouse, RN, WCC so I'm wondering if I got certified or not? I mean this course was offered and provided by the hospital that I'm working for? and when I check my hospital email, I have the certificate but it didn't say that I'm certified or what I mean it says "Completion of Wound Care Course for RNs and LVNs" Am I certified already? Can I put to my resume that I am wound care certified? Thank you. ![]() Doesn't sound like certification..sounds like you attended a class and obtained CEU's. Comment:

You are not certified.

How can I be certified?
Comment:
Wound care certification is a lengthy process and involves study, passing a rigorous content exam and a practicum. Emory University offers one such program. My daughter is a CWOCN- it took her most of a year and about $3000 to complete.

The WCC is a "Wound Care Consultant" which is different from a CWOCN. I know one of my managers tested and passed the WCC and is certified as that. She was the wound specialist before she was certified. I do not know if she took a course, I know she took a very in depth test that the facility paid for which was approx. $2,000.
Comment:
I think OP might be equating completion of this course to something akin to IV certified.
