Are per diem nurses considered staff nurses?

Rating:
(votes: 0)

Hey everyone,

Is a per diem nursing position considered a staff nursing position? Thanks, and Happy Holidays.
I think you are playing word games. If you are employed by the facility you are staff. If you are sent by an agency, you are not.

Comment:
A per diem position is considered a staff nursing position because you are a member of nursing staff. The major difference is the lack of guaranteed hours or benefits because you are not committing to full-time employment.

Comment:
My badge says Staff like all the full time nurses and I only have to work a minimum of 2 shifts every 6 weeks. This is vs the agency staff who have "Agency RN" on their badges.

Comment:
Where I work, yes, we are staff nurses.

Comment:
Of course.
