Substance abuse career

I recently graduated with an ADN. I really want to go into substance abuse counseling/treatment of some kind. My community college offers a two year substance abuse degree which I have most of the prerequisites done through nursing school. They also offer a certificate program for I think BSNs, although I could probBly take this as well.

I am currently enrolled in an online RN to BSN program but have not been really motivated to do my work. I think that getting a BSN may make it easier to get a job, but I really want to enroll in this substance abuse program. I feel that I will really enjoy it. This means I will have two associate degrees and I am wondering if this will be essentially useless.
