Question about telemertyRating: (votes: 0) Look at your P&P's. That should tell you. Comment:
Are you still on orientation? This is a good question for your preceptor. There are many variants to calling the MD. What is their history? Is this new for the patient? Is is rare and isolated? (and in one or two every day) What meds are they on? Is the patient symptomatic? Is this chronic with this patient? Is it frequent? Every third beat? Every other beat? Is it regular? Is it irregular? Is this new?How fast? How slow?Patient history......Have you had a telemetry course?
Comment:
There will occasionally also be something in the admitting write up that will say something like, "Notify physician if > 5 PVC run, multifocals, or ..." Many people have isolated PVCs all the time and it's harmless. Others, you'll learn who to be more careful about. Consider getting one of the "....Made Incredibly Easy" books on cardiology-related topics to help you on your way.
