Dating someone from within ???

Just curious if anybody has dated a co-worker or known someone who has? I have been hearing on here that many nurses are dating the doctors, patients, etc... I'm not an RN yet, but can't you be fired for this kind of behavior?

Please don't leave negative comments. I'm just asking a serious question, so don't go gettin all dirty hairy on me.:
As a paramedic I dated my husband BUT we worked different shifts and kept it VERY quiet for almost a year and a half without people knowing. NO PDA at all.Keep it professional

Nursing aside, is it really ever a good idea to date someone you work with? What is that saying... "Don't s*** where you eat" ?

Sure attraction can happen but it is risky (follow you heart though),but nothing can beat a pt who thinks you are in love with him,LOL))))))))))))))

Yup, when hubby and I were LPNs together. That's how we became friends, though I knew the first time I saw him that he was IT. We've been married 7 years this month. Incidentally, even though he did get his RN, neither one of us is employed in nursing any longer. In our case anyway, nursing was unfortunately a little bit stressful (nothing we couldn't handle, though) to an otherwise very good relationship. Anyway, he was the only coworker I ever really dated. Apparently our coworkers and residents had already figured out we were going to be together before we actually were; we just really got along that well. I learned a lot about who he was by seeing firsthand how he treated people of no relation to him.

I was told. Don't get your honey where you get your money!! That being said. I am trying to start a relationship with one of my coworkers now. I had the same question. Is it weird? Is it wrong? And I knew of others in our hospital that were dating and worked in the same unit so I asked them what the pro's and con's were for dating someone you work with? They only had pro's. Thus, I asked out the girl, will let you know how this goes lol

My wife and I met 16 years ago in the same ICU, we have one daughter. I moved only recently to another assignment within the same organization.Both of us are refugees from other industries, and both of us maintain (to this day) a marked degree of professionalism in keeping the home life out of work.I would suggest that this is the exception, not the norm. A converse situation creating undue workplace drama would be fatal.

That is a real knee-slapper...Really, I know that I have a slightly worse position than most people... But it would never occur to me to say ANYTHING that could POSSIBLY be INTERPRETED as "sexy" to ANY coworker at ANY job...

The only thing I would like to say is that if anyone decide to date anyone in the same work environment or facility I hope it is real not a fling. I would just keep it personal. People talk, talk, and talk. It is not nice to hear bad things going around about you dating or having a fling with anyone and it is not interferring with your work. Just keep it to yourself. If you decide to go out in public and someone sees you and go back you work and talk about it. You have to be strong and put up with the gossip. There are pros and cons in everthing we do just have leave it or love it.
